You Asked For A Radiolucent Papoose Board

papoose-board For many years we have been receiving requests from our customers asking for a solution for restraining patients during diagnostic imaging procedures.  Well we listened and for over a year we have been developing a papoose board that can be used in diagnostic imaging without artifacting on the image.

Constructed of high density polyethylene (HDPE) our newly developed papoose board is durable and completely radiolucent.  The traditional papoose board design had metal rivets which made the board completely unusable for diagnostic imaging procedures.  Our new papoose board design also includes closed foam padding on the backside of the wrap making the board more comfortable for the patient.  This same closed foam material is also used as padding for the head strap in case the patients head needs to be restrained.

While common in the dental industry the papoose board has not been able to be used in the medical industry because the board typically had metal components to it. These metal components would cause artifacting on the x-ray making the image completely useless. By simplifying the design our new design makes the board usable for x-ray images and also makes it acceptable for use in an MRI. The medical industry doesn’t have to wait any longer for a papoose restraint board that will help take diagnostic images of uncooperative children, infants, or even adults.
